Don received his initial massage therapy training at the Swedish Institute in New York City, which is the oldest established school of massage therapy in the country.  After graduating in 1988, he practiced massage in a variety of venues including healthcare facilities, Chiropractic offices and day spas before establishing a private practice in Manhattan.
 
He moved to the Lake Norman area in 2002, and in June of 2005 he and Cindy Livingston opened the doors to Davidson Therapeutic Massage.
 
Don's focus has always been on utilizing various forms of deep tissue massage.  He became certified in the St. John method of Neuromuscular Therapy in 1994.  He has also studied other forms of structural bodywork over the years, including Postural Integration, Myofascial Release and Myoskeletal Alignment.  He combines these approaches along with his experience in Sports Massage to address a variety of soft tissue injuries, postural stresses and their related myofascial pain patterns.

Joanne attended a school for massage and structural bodywork and graduated in 2001.  She has been in private practice since then and joined Davidson Therapeutic Massage in September of 2005.
 
Joanne's primary focus is on Neuromuscular Therapy and Structural Bodywork.  She provides her clients with knowledge and experience in the treatment of chronic pain, soft tissue injury and postural distortion.  She has addressed problems such as Arthritis, Scoliosis, frozen shoulder, TMJ Disfunction, arm and hand pain, whiplash, migraine headaches, injury recovery and sports injuries such as Golf/Tennis elbow, injuries to the Rotator Cuff and neck, and mid and lower back pain.
 
Joanne is nationally certified and state licensed in massage therapy and structural bodywork, and is also trained in Swedish/relaxation, pain management, myofascial release, myoskeletal alignment and neuromuscular massage.

Judith has been a nationally certified and North Carolina state licensed Massage and Structural Bodywork therapist for over 4 years, working exclusively at Davidson Therapeutic Massage.  She is certified as a Neuromuscular therapist and has studied and trained in various aspects of Sports Massage including sports injury assessment, cross-fiber tendon treatment modalities and AST and ART stretching/lengthening.  Her interests, abilities and training have led her to focus her work primarily on treating athletes and active people pursuing a healthy lifestyle.
 
She has treated most common sports related injuries, including but not limited to: IT Band contracture and strain, Achilles  tendon and ankle ligament strains, Plantar Fasciitis, various injuries to the rotator cuff, Golf and Tennis elbow, Quadriceps Hamstring and Calf contracture, shin splints and neck and shoulder tension, as well as  treating  the general muscle stress that can occur as a result of rigorous training.  She also does pre-race preparation massage and race recovery massage, and works frequently with clients who are recovering from injury or surgical procedures.
 
She enjoys working with active people of all ages and levels of ability who are interested in improving their personal wellness or achieving specific fitness goals.  She works closely with each client to formulate a treatment plan that includes massage and bodywork, self-treatment in the form of rolling and stretching regimens and self-massage or other strategies to help facilitate fast and healthy tissue recovery.
